하월시아 자구 분리 시 유의할 점 리마인드..

 

올해 여름에 츠카하라 만상 자구 10개 정도를 분리하면서 느꼈던 점과 아래 Cocozza 홈페이지에서 읽은 글이 일치되면서

배울게 있는 글이라 리마인드 차원에서 다시 정리해서 올려본다.

 

올해 여름 분리한 자구 중에 4개의 아이에서 문제가 발생해서 2개의 아이가 하늘나라로 갔고, 한 아이는 미래가 어찌될지 

모르는 상황에 있다. 예전에 다른 하월시아 분리시에 그냥 쉽게 자구를 뜯어내었고, 동부 루톤 발근제만 뜯어낸 부분에

발라주고 바로 물을 주고 길러도 문제가 없어서 쉽게보고 더운 여름에 피곤한 상태에서 똑같은 만상 자구 처리를 한 것이다.

 

떼어낼 때 두개의 아이에 문제가 생겼는데 하나는 자구를 뜯어낼 때 칼날을 넣으려고 자구를 살짝 밀어서 틈을 벌리려다가

자구 잎장이 하나 뜯어져 나갔다. 또 하나는 자구의 몸통을 너무 바짝 뜯어내서 전체 창들이 몸통에 잘 고정이 안되는 문제이다.

 

또한 여름에 뜯어내니 뿌리가 달려있지 않은 상태로 뜯어냈고, 초가을 늦더위에 두개의 아이가 뜯어낸 자리가 물러서

하늘나라로 가버린 것이다. 이렇든 무심하게 쉽게 생각하고 별 처리없이 대충 진행한 결과 10개중에 두개의 아이가 죽고,

두개의 아이가 시간이 걸리는 문제를 안게되었던 것이다.

 

아래 코코자 싸이트의 글을 읽어보면 나의 문제가 무엇인지, 또 전문가들이란 얼마나 기본에 충실하고 꼼꼼한 자세를 가져야

하는지 반성하게 된다. 쉬운 듯 어려운 기본 지키기를 다시 돌아본다. 

(간단 내용 정리)

1. 커팅전에 모체를 가능한 물을 줄여 꼬들꼬들하게 만들어서 커팅이 쉽게 한다.

2. 분리에 필요한 최소한의 작업으로 식물에 스트레스를 주는 환경을 줄인다.

3. 가능한 자구에 뿌리를 붙여서 커팅하고 뿌리를 화분에 심고 흙으로 덮어서 물을 준다.

4.. 커팅된 부분은 물을 준 흙으로부터 띄워서 공기중에 순환시켜 잘 말라서 상처가 아물게 한다.

5. 상처 부위가 잘 마르고, 부리가 안정적으로 내리면 이쁘게 다시 심어준다.

This is one of the easier methods of propagation and simply requires the removal of ready-formed plantlets with a sharp blade.

It's better to allow the parent plant to become a little thirsty prior to removing offsets.

This will allow the leaves of the plant to soften a little and will reduce the risk of leaves splitting when we pull the heads

apart to insert the knife blade.

 

Although removing offsets is an easy and commonplace procedure, it shouldn’t be made more stressful to the plants than is

absolutely necessary if we want them to make a rapid recovery.

Sometimes when we remove offsets there are roots already forming on the offset itself.

 

Instead of leaving the offset with its cut area AND roots to dry out for a week or so before re-potting, protect any roots from

drying out during the wait by adding sufficient compost to the pot to just cover the roots but stop short of covering the cut area.

 

By potting-up the root area immediately, the roots can also be watered & do not become desiccated, thus speeding-up the

recovery process.

The head will probably need to be tilted so that the cut area remains above the level of the moist soil until thoroughly dried

and calloused.

 

You can then straighten up the head, top-up the soil and proceed as usual.
